In the Auvergne, the so-called Tuscany of France, lies the holiday cottage “Maison Colette” near Clermont-Ferrand, the capital of the Puy-de-Dôme department. This pleasant holiday cottage has, we think, the most beautiful view of the Auvergne. Sitting on the terrace, with a good glass within reach or enjoying a delicious meal and/or good conversation, you have a fine view of a grand landscape with pastures, woods and hills, while high above you in the sky the buzzards are looking for prey. If you are lucky, you might even see deer eating, always ready to shoot off in the safety of the overgrowth.
From “Maison Colette” you can easily walk into the woods. Maps with walkingtrails are available. In the environment you can also (under supervision) go riding on horseback or hire a quad.
At a distance of five minutes by car you will find the “Lac Aubusson” where you can swim. On a small beach, in the shade of the trees, you can laze around and enjoy the summery outdoor life. It is also possible to rent waterbikes at this lake.
It takes 10 minutes to drive to Courpière, 20 minutes to Thiers, 45 minutes to Clermont-Ferrand and 50 minutes to Vichy.
